Actually called the “Iowa’s Longest Marathon”, it is held from May to October with two events that include the Red Shoe Half Marathon and the full marathon later on. Those who participate and train for this event, eventually managing to complete both events will get not one but two medals for Iowa’s Longest Marathon and also the Red Shoe Half Marathon.
The competition is open for all, so start training for the upcoming year. Remember to prepare a plan as soon as you sign up for a marathon. Unlike any other sports or competition, marathons require a good two to three months of conditioning and practice runs to even muster up the stamina and patience necessary for the real marathon.
